Rebecca first volunteered at a Girls on the Run 5K in New Orleans and marveled at the positive energy and infectious enthusiasm of all the girls and coaches. She knew right away that she wanted to somehow be a part of this amazing organization. After recently relocating to Birmingham with her family, she is thrilled to be serving as Executive Director of Girls on the Run Birmingham. Rebecca graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with a degree in Public Communications and a Minor in Educational Studies. Most recently, she served as the Director of Donor Relations at a community hospital in New Orleans, LA. Her 15-year career in non-profit organizations has taught her about the value of philanthropy and volunteerism and the profound impact it can have on the lives of others. In addition to her work with Girls on the Run, she keeps busy exploring the Magic City with her husband, 6 year-old son, and 3 year-old daughter - a future Girl on the Run!
Nicole joined the Girls on the Run team in August 2017 after serving as an Americorps Vista member with the North Alabama Agriplex in Cullman, AL and the Southwest Garden Project in Durango, CO. With a degree in Elementary Education, Nicole enjoys combining her commitment to helping youth in our community with her passion for non-profit service. In addition to her love of all things Girl Power, Nicole is an avid outdoorswoman and along with her husband Tim (and cat and two dogs) enjoys camping, hiking and mountain biking.
Wynne has been involved with Girls on the Run since she interned in Charlotte in 2002. She eventually coached, planned 5K’s and volunteered. After moving to Alabama in 2009, Wynne helped bring Girls on the Run to Birmingham where she served on the inaugural board of directors. While Wynne has been connected to Girls on the Run for a long time, now, as a mom of two (including a daughter), she is more aware than ever of the importance of supporting healthy, happy and confident girls. Wynne has a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and prior to joining Girls on the Run Birmingham was Community Engagement Coordinator at Children’s of Alabama.
